Gopio donation Terms and Conditions

This section outlines the terms and conditions that specifically apply to individuals and organizations who wish to contribute towards the betterment of Gopio and its subsidiaries through donations. However, for any queries about our terms and conditions and any clarifications regarding the same please contact us at gopiosingapore@gopio.org.sg These terms and conditions apply to individuals and organizations and similar donors only and shall not be assumed as general terms and conditions for the usage of the website and its services, for general terms of service for our website and its services usage, please refer T&C of the website that is made available separately.

1. Gopio is a non-profit organisation, legally operating online donation services via its website, including the collection and processing of donations received from individual donors and organisations.
2. These legal terms and conditions mentioned below, in addition to any other terms and conditions that may be applicable, govern the use of the services by individuals and organizations alike.
3. By continuing to use or access the website service for donation purposes, you shall be assumed as agreeing to be bound by these terms of service with immediate effect.
4. Donations made through the website in their entirety shall be utilised for the purposes mentioned and not to any other intents. While making a donation, donors may be able request how they wish their funds to be allocated to projects listed on the website.
5. These terms of service shall in no way constitute or be deemed to constitute a joint venture, partnership or agency relationship between the donors and gopio and shall not authorise the donor to enter into any commitments for or on behalf of gopio.
6. Donations cannot be made by donors until completing the registration process, and must have been mandatorily accepted by gopio as a registered user and possess an account accessible via the website.
7. Before processing a donation, donors shall provide full name, address and relevant personal details which shall be used to process the donation. It shall be the donor’s responsibility to ensure that proper details have been provided with and the correctness of the information is validated.
8. Gopio shall operate the website and provide the services so that donors can make online donations on the website. Gopio shall incorporate equitable measures to collect protect and secure the personal details of donors in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
9. Gopio shall work to ensure the privacy and security of its donors and shall strive to protect the personal details of the donors and shall not make it available to general public who view or browse through the website.
10. Gopio shall acknowledge and commit to secure donor privacy and agree that no donor information shall be redistributed to a third party and no donor information will automatically be added to the mailing lists of any kind without the consent of the donor.
11. While making donations through the payment gateway donors shall understand that the payment gateway is provided by a third party and governed by the terms and conditions provided by such third party. Gopio shall however ensure that all transactions and financial related information entering the system is encrypted using suitable security measures.
12. While gopio shall take all reasonable steps to protect information provided by the donors, gopio does not warrant that the service shall always be uninterrupted or error free and in the event of such third party technical error instances during making donations gopio shall not be held responsible for any technical liabilities of the donors.
13. In case of suspicious donors gopio reserves the right to decline any donation, refuse or suspend donations and refuse to list such donations on the website. And in such instances gopio shall undertake cross checks that may be necessary to verify or re-verify the identity and objectives of the donors.
14. While using services on a mobile device, the site may automatically collect location information from the GPS functionality on the device and hence donors shall authorize the site and its services to take such actions and access such data according to one’s own consent.
15. However in case of consenting to the location access, donors can grant or revoke the consent at any time to prevent continued access to the GPS information by changing the settings on the device.
16. Donors shall understand that gopio site, and the mobile application and its services are constantly evolving which may require updates to be installed on the computer or mobile device which from time to time may have to be updated in order to use the application efficiently.
17. Gopio reserves the right to introduce new services and update or withdraw any of the services, in its sole discretion, and shall not be held answerable to the donors for exercising this discretion.
18. Donors are requested to go through the tax exemption details displayed in the content of every cause before making any donation and donors shall ensure that as registered and authorised donors/users of the website donors shall claim applicable tax exemption certificates within reasonable time limits wherever applicable.
19. Donors shall comply with gopio policies from time to time relating to the donation services and gopio shall have no obligations or duties except those expressly set out in this agreement and those that are made mandatory by any law.
20. Gopio makes every effort to notify the amendments that may have been updated as and when needed but however donors shall make it a point to clearly go through the fresh or updated amendments and understand them clearly before proceeding with any transaction.
